so what is ludwick’s excuse for completely sucking with the reds this year? maybe if you can’t hit at great american ball park it is time to admit you were over rated and only put up good numbers while you played with albert hitting behind you in st.louis. besides sucking with the padres he did little with the pirates before continuing his suckitude with the reds. but not before he got the patron saint of ex- cardinals,Walt Jocetty to fork over 2.5 million dollars for what he did 4 years ago.thumbs down all you want but it is true,he has done nothing since being traded to the padres and is currently batting under .200 for the reds at one of the more hitter friendly parks.

Most of the ballparks in MLB qualify as hitters parks. I see nothing wrong with having a few PetCos and SafeCos in the mix. Of course, certain hitters are going to complain and that has been a tradition in San Diego dating back to Ryan Klesko and Phil Nevin. Moving in the fences a few feet isn’t going to do anything about the heavy air that comes from having a ballpark built near the water at sea level. Build your team around pitching, speed and defense and turn your home yard into an advantage. Trade away the hitters who allow themselves to become complately mindf___ed by the environment.

You get nothing good from having these canyon-like stadiums. The hitters have to change their approach and end up screwing themselves up and if the pitching is good enough it doesn’t matter if it’s a hitters park or not. There’s just no benefit other than making a few mediocre pitchers here and there appear to be better than what they are. Weigh that small benefit against the totally dead offense you have to read stories about year after year for the teams that play in these parks.
