Atleast he didn’t hit himself in the head with a bat, so he’s got that going for him. It’s only a matter of time before the Nats regain their normal spot in the division. Now they have their excuse why.

Watermelon, pudge didn’t look good at his retirement presser. His face looked bloated. Definitely significant weight gain. I’d say he’s nowhere near baseball shape. (and yes, one of the greatest catchers of all time, offensively and defensively). But that’s just father time, kickin’ ass.

Washington Nationals lead all of baseball in most pitching categories. How much this has to due with the catcher we shall see. Tough year for Ramos. Things can only get better.

Somebody call PUDGE! This is a team that could go all the way, if their catcher can call the games correctly. Pudge’s ability to throw runners out doesn’t hurt either, and his bat might not be as consistent anymore, but it’s definitely not bad enough to classify as a liability.

Luckily for the Nats, their farm system is light years ahead of where it was just a few yrs ago and they have been able to call guys up as replacements as opposed to trading for or inking washed up bums to fill in. Flores was seen as the franchise catcher before his shoulder injury so we will see what happens there, also interested to see what Sandy Leon brings to the table…

Well, nuts.

As well as the young Nats have played, surely no team can withstand the loss of bats like Morse, Werth, and now Ramos. One more injury, plus the sub-par play of Harper, Lombardozzi, and Espinosa thus far, and this team could take a steep dive.
