Poor Gaby. An utterly likable guy who just lost it alla sudden and has no idea why. And a hometown boy on top of that.

Morrison at first gives me no comfort whatsoever. He’s just an awful situational hitter and his knee looks like a long-term liability. But at least we won’t have to watch him running crop circles in the outfield trying to figure out where a popup is going to come down.

This ballpark is designed for the team currently in place…guys like Reyes and bonifacio hit doubles and triples everywhere and Hanley and Stanton hit homers

Not to mention its only a matter of time before Gaby is gone, Lomo at first and Yelich in right after Stanton moves to left

Just take down that ridiculously ugly “THING” in left-center. MLB should have to approve crap like that to be put in a stadium. I swear, I only thought I’d se something that ridiculous in a movie. I’d be embarrassed Marlins fans. Clearly the new ownership is lacking IQ points.

There’s a competitive advantage to be had if they play it right. Bring in guys who work the count and get on base, and bring in pitchers who throw strikes and may have had their perceived value beaten down by the long ball. Then make sure your outfield defense is elite.

Guys like Brett Gardner and any number of Bronson Arroyo-like pitchers would be ideal for the Marlins.

Give it 1 or 2 more seasons. The pitcher friendly parks always have the same issues and the home team hitting stars start griping and deservedly so. If you have good enough pitching it won’t matter if the fences are brought in. The only thing these large parks do is make your own hitters change their approach and screw themselves up and they start complaining. I’m guessing Josh Johnson doesn’t care how far the fences are.

It’d be nice if they kept a few parks as pitchers parks or as ones that play differently (such as Marlins Park) does. Making everything the same band-box style is like the modern version of the 70s cookie cutter epidemic.
