We talked about his return this morning, but this afternoon the A’s put an exact date on it: Manny Ramirez will debut on May 30 against the Twins in Minnesota.

That’s the first day he’s eligible to come back, so the A’s obviously think he’s ready. Word is that he’ll hit either fourth or fifth and will be given the everyday DH job from the get-go.

So he’ll come back around the same time as Cespedes, right? Should be one heck of an end to the month.

The guy is 39. Is there really anything left in his tank? I could see him hitting in the .260s or .270s and maybe popping 15-20 HRs out this year at best, but is that really enough production to warrant being affiliated with a known juicer??

Those numbers would be enough for him to be a top-3 hitter on that team.

man you’re angry core. He wasn’t a juicer , just trying to get in touch with her/his feminine side. Seriously though, I still love Manny an I will be glad he’s back

This is a great deal for the A’s. The Angles paid Albert Pujols $250 Million dollars for 10 years which comes out to $155,279 a game. The A’s are paying Manny the league minimum of $500k when prorated for the time he missed is the price of 2 days of Pujols. Pujols is batting .195 and 1 HR. I bet Manny does a lot better this year than Pujols. A’s got a great deal!

Wondering how long before they catch him dirty again? once he’s benched for not hitting.

Did he ever finally get pregnant with that fertility drug?
