Jesus Montero traded for Francisco Cervelli and Juan Rincon

Heh, made you look.

It really happened, though. In the Venezuelan league — that’s a Spanish report translated by our friend Nick Collias — where Navegantes de Magallanes traded Montero to the Cardenales de Lara.  And yes, talent aside, it’s a fair trade considering that it’s unlikely that Montero will actually be playing much winter ball going forward now that he’s got an established major league job.

Why yes, it is a very, very slow news day. Why do you ask?

Old School Misdirection, Craig. I like it.

That’s one way to drive the page views up…

I am coming to Ohio and I WILL FIND YOU, CALCATERRA!

    • paperlions - May 16, 2012 at 4:41 PM

Going to Ohio? That’s a high price to pay…I’m sure he’ll leave at some point, you can get him them.

      • madhatternalice - May 16, 2012 at 6:08 PM

But…what if his city was gone?

    Smoove Operator.

If Ty Cobb were alive today, Craig, your shenanigans would leave him no choice but to slug you hard and often.

    • vallewho - May 16, 2012 at 11:55 PM

Ty Cobb. MLB needs more like him.

  6. seeinred87 - May 16, 2012 at 3:44 PM

    Well played, sir.

  7. davebrownspiral - May 16, 2012 at 3:47 PM

Actually, that’s a better trade than the one Cashman made.

  8. - May 16, 2012 at 3:57 PM

That’s his 3rd team in less than a calender year, must be a club house cancer. [/sarcasm]

not sure craig but I’m pretty sure I hate you now

  10. sabathiawouldbegoodattheeighthtoo - May 16, 2012 at 4:32 PM

Somehow, Cashman still got hoodwinked in this deal.

  11. xzoso - May 16, 2012 at 5:35 PM

M’s fan here. You’re an asshole.

  12. casey5jones - May 16, 2012 at 5:53 PM

I hate you, Craig! In a playfully serious kind of way.

  13. shanabartels - May 16, 2012 at 6:39 PM

That headline just made my heart stop for like five seconds. Thanks a lot, Craig.

  14. hiltonandastoria - May 16, 2012 at 6:40 PM

Better give him a full medical check up

  15. astrosfan75956 - May 16, 2012 at 6:58 PM

I’m really starting to dislike you Craig.

  16. denny65 - May 17, 2012 at 4:00 AM

Well, after Montero’s two errors and offensive ineffectiveness in the Ms 9-3 loss to the Indians today, upon first reading the headline I though, well, finally, Wedge has decided to get serious.

Alas, no. Now, if the headline had said “Brendan Ryan” had been traded and it wasn’t true, I’d be throwing my laptop across the room in frustration. Ryan needs to be waived.

You get paid by page views, right? As an attorney you should know that bait-and-switch is illegal.
