Time for some education. My grandmother (maiden name = Neff) was from the Hill Country (Junction, to be exact) and was of German descent. Many of the cities in the Hill Country are Germanic (i.e. New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, Gruene, etc.) in origin and you can find a fantastic German meal in most of those places. Tejano music evolved from Mexican and Germanic styles (i.e. Mariachi & Polka) and the accordian sound in such music is an immediate clue to the German/Czech roots.

So yeah, Texas is a fine place to find a good brat…as well as other German foods.
