From what I heard at least 4 of those runs were the result of a dropped routine fly ball.

Carroll Rogers (filling in for O’Brien) has more specifics in their blog. Basically, Minor is having problems pitching out of the stretch. With the bases empty, hitters are batting .226; with runners on, they’re hitting .422. No good can come from putting Minor in the pen and bringing him in a game with runners on.

Minor seems to be having trouble locating a breaking pitch. Fastball and change look like they are hitting their spots for him most nights. Contrast that with jj who looks to have lost a little velocity but is throwing strikes. Unfortunately while jj is getting strikes he is missing corners so he is vulnerable all game. Minor i would say is vulnerable second or third time through because he cant locate a third pitch very well and teams seem to be waiting on a fastball. I believe the braves and minor would benefit by swapping medlen and minor. Medlen to the rotation and minor to the pen.

Well that puts an end to the thought I had of Jurrjens replacing Minor. Good. I would prefer a struggling Minor as he figures things out than JJ.
