Mr. Met and the most awkward high-five in recent memory

May 17, 2012, 9:12 AM EDT

New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg was on hand for the All-Star Game announcement yesterday and he looked like he’d rather be anywhere but there. Check out the high-five he gave Mr. Met:

Gosh, if you can’t be happy around someone as awesome as Mr. Met, there’s no hope for you.

“For saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers’ kiss.”
Mr. Met and Mr. Bloomberg were just getting romantic…now excuse I’m going to take cover and prepare for Cur’s 1-up

Bud is a bazillionnaire, right? Why can’t he get a damn suit that fits?

Are those two starting some sort of Pon Farr ritual?

  4. heyblueyoustink - May 17, 2012 at 9:47 AM

Bloomberg has been cheating on Mr. Met with the Phanatic, hence the awkwardness.

    Where is the Purell?
I am sorry Mr.Mayor…You used it all in your meeting with Ms Quinn

  6. Old Gator - May 17, 2012 at 9:59 AM

Now get away from me, you hydrocephalic freak.

  7. jimbo1949 - May 17, 2012 at 10:28 AM

Mr Met has an even bigger fake smile than Bloomberg, you know he’s there under protest.

  8. Utley's Hair - May 17, 2012 at 12:28 PM

Why does Allan H. “Bud” Selig always look incredibly uncomfortable in his own skin? Or maybe he has painful gas, and Bloomberg told him that antacid takes care of it….

Mr. Met should never be described as “awesome”.
