Suspension Time! Battling Metabolites!

5pm on a Friday can mean only one thing: time to report the minor league drug suspensions:

New York Mets Minor League second baseman Daniel Muno has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a metabolite of Drostanolone.

San Francisco Giants Minor League pitcher Luis Rojas has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.

Stanozol is an okay metabolite I suppose. But all the cool kids are into metabolites of Drostanolone (and some of us were into it way before it became popular).

Seems like getting caught using Stano is becoming pretty common. I wonder if these guys have the same supplier.

    Damn Hipsters and their metabolites…

Luis Rojas has spent six years in the minors (four in rookie, two in Low-A, the most recent in Hi-A) with some pretty awful stats. My guess is that he didn’t really have anything to lose.

Muno is a stranger case as he’s only got about a year and a half in the minors, but he is 23 so maybe he thought he needed a boost. BA had him as the Mets #30 prospect after 2011, so he’s not amazing anyone too much.
