Did you see when he made a full sprint towards the 2nd base ump when he was called out for not retouching second base when he went back to first. I thought he was going to put his forehead into the ump’s chest a la Zinedine Zidane (I don’t like soccer but that head but was awesome).

I’m sure I wasn’t the only Jays fan screaming “NOOOOOOOOO, don’t hit him” while he was in mid sprint. Like the spirit of Qui Gon Jinn imploring Anikin not to slaughter the sand people. (If Cur can make a Star Wars reference, then so can I)

Not the only Lawrie v Umpire moment, either. There was the checked swing/strike-out call (no way he swung) and the “went-past-second-didn’t-tag-up & ran-back-to-first, you’re-out” call. The young fella is havin’ his trials and tribulations, indeed.

Tune it today for the continuing saga of Revenge of the Umpires, where our brash young Beaver Lovin’ Jedi competes again, verses the Sith Lord minions of Darth Selig. Will he learn a valuable lesson or will once again fail the Test at The Cave (Tropicana is pretty gloomy & spooky with all those empty seats, cobwebs, and catwalks, no?).
