Everybody’s been so busy congratulating Derek Jeter for not being finished that we seem not to have noticed that he’s got a .683 OPS in May.

    Sick Burn:
MLB’s starting pitcher write up for the Nats-Braves:
    Mike Minor:
The long ball has been Minor’s nemesis in the last month. He has allowed multiple home runs in four of his past five starts, including giving up four solo shots to Cincinnati in his last start. Still, his ERA dropped after that outing.

Ouch. That comes in a close second in Brave-related burns.

Cobb’s hit total was corrected by -2 (4189) about 20 years ago. How long does it take this news to disseminate? To sports-based media centers? Good grief.

I don’t know why, but MLB still lists Cobb’s total as 4,191. When you bring it up with Bud, ask him about instant replay too.
