Sometimes things don’t work out for promotions. The Twins had a Ben Revere bat day this year and he was in the minors at the time. Unfortunate.

But, if Ackley needed the day for rest, Wedge should have given him a different day for rest and played him on his bobblehead day.

I would think a better question would be why is Dustin Ackley, a second-year player with 135 games, getting his own bobblehead already?

Has the franchise really sunk to this level?

I watched this type of nonsense for years as a tribe fan. Wedge, over manager of the century. Just let ball players play ball turd.

Huh? Management thinks enough of ackley to honor him with a bobble head day and the manager benches him. I think Wedge owes his fan base an explanation. And of course, this may drive a “Wedge” between the players and the manager.

Yes, in a vacuum. But in fairness, we don’t know the entirety of the context. It could be that Ackley is banged up and needs a day off, or perhaps he violated a team rule.

Wedge isn’t exactly Casey Stengel, but it could very well be that we don’t know the whole story.
