Bonds knows how to play baseball, run hit and throw. Big Mac has done well for the Cards hitters, the Giants would be fools not to let Bonds help out their anemic offense and and improve their good outfield defense.

So maybe you had it right.

Aside from all that , I watched him do things on the field that no one ever has done before…and they were juiced too. One cool anecdote is the story he tells about how his father taught him to almost trick his brain into seeing the pitch as if he was playing catch instead of trying to hit it so he can see the ball better.

Now look at Bonds at 86: SLG of and eye popping .836, while his career average is .607.

Since almost no teams had room on their roster in 2008 for a $16+ million dollar part-time 44-year-old outfielder with bad knees (including the Giants), the idea that he was “forced out” or that there was collusion is a bit of an odd idea whose only advocate appeared to have been Bonds’ agent, Scott Borris.

As to burning all your bridges in baseball – I would simply point you to Manny Ramirez, who after two lengthy steroid suspensions and a nasty attitude toward fans and media, has a job in baseball right now. If Bonds could still hit home runs, and was willing to play for the right money, someone would have signed him.

“Forced out” implies some sort of collusion or coordination, of which I have seen no evidence. Then again, maybe you know something I don’t…

Teams decided his bat wasn’t worth the circus he would bring. If he wasn’t ok with the consequences he could have not cheated. Let’s not make him out to be Curt Flood here.
