Ah, the Padres are in a hole because of all the pitching injuries and no offensive production from their middle infield, in addition to Quentin’s absence. If healthy, and the middle infielders start hitting, it’s a decent team, with a farm ready to produce over the next year or two. It’s not the kind of team you blow up and start over, by trading productive veterans who fill a needed role for prospects.

Not really disagreeing with you on your points, but Quentin is better than anyone not named Braun in the Brewers OF. If they are in as much of a ‘win now’ mode as they seem, Quentin would make at least a bit of sense.

Carlos Lee finally struck out to reach double figures this year. Fewest K’s by any qualifier. He will make nice trade bait later this season as well.

Brewers dont have anything left in their farm system to pull a trade. Besides, Aoki has the outfield spot with Hart being moved to first base. It is showing good results thus far

On a side note, I had a funny thought that Quentin could end up the Padres lone representative to the All star game right before they ship him out. He is 3rd in home runs on the team after only playing 3 games, so why not?

Yep, short but sweet. Since Carlos is a native SD that home cooking will have to wait until after the season come July. Boston could use him, but with all the lefties in Cleveland’s lineup would not be surprised if they make a push.
