There’s really no need for a sense of urgency. Wright isn’t a free agent after this season, so I don’t understand why everyone’s got their panties in a twist. I realize it’s the “in” thing to do to sign your stars to huge, long-term contract extensions well before free agency (See Howard, Ryan for one example) but he’s under team control for next season at it is, and if they don’t work something out now, they’ve got the whole offseason, and of course all of next season to work something out. What’s the hurry?

They’re hoping he’ll go in to a slump so they can low ball him.
