UPDATE: The news on Doug Fister was not as bad as anticipated

May 31, 2012, 5:00 PM EDT

UPDATE: Well, it seems the news wasn’t as bad as it could have been:

5:00 PM: Doug Fister is back on the DL after having aggravated his left side. And now we hear that bad news is likely to be delivered by the Tigers soon:

I’m assuming it’s not sunshine and rainbows. The best I can think of is a cute and fuzzy bunny with a strained latissimus dorsi.

Things could be going worse for the Tigers right now. I’m just not sure how.

I feel like whichever teams don’t have half their roster with broken bodies are going to be the ones to make it to the World Series this year. Holy injuries, Batman!

    “costochondral strain”

Wow, somebody needs to gather up all these ailments on flash cards, with color illustrations and estimated DL/rehab time, so we can all keep track of players on our team. The old baseball cards with stats on the back just don’t hack it anymore.
