Agree. Davis is just the pesky kind of guy that pitchers hate. They feel the vibe of "I must not let this guy on base...." and it messes with them. He owned Hammel on that homer, teaching all pitchers everywhere a valuable lesson: groove a fastball and an MLB player, even if he hits as poorly as Davis, will CRUSH it, especially if they're being coached by Dwayne Murphy. I've seen all of Travis Snider that I want to see, and Davis offers much more D, better on base skills, and seems to be responding to Murphy's tutelage.

The Beaver Men just need it all to come together now: their pitchers to pitch up to potential, and their hitters to hit up to potential (I'm lookin' at YOU Jose Bautista). Snider can ride pine on the DL till after the kids, Cooper and Gomes get a good look. Also I'm dieing to see that hot SS prospect up: Adeiny Hechavarria called up.

The outfielder to watch down at Triple A is Gose. After a slow start, he has been very hot lately. His skill set is similar to Davis, however, he has a much higher upside. Davis will be a free agent at the end of the season. Gose should be ready for the majors by the end of this season.

I agree with you (Davis also homered twice in a game last week). Honestly, Davis is probably the better option even if both Snider and Thames are healthy - even if he gets on base slightly less, he does a lot more once on (it's a lot of fun, say you say, to watch pitchers just seem to get their brains scrambled when he's on). Thames is alright (he gets a bad rap too), but of the three I'd say a Davis/Thames platoon makes the most sense unless Snider forces a callup on the basis of performance and health (and not a minute before). There just isn't a middle of the order bat in left to be had here, but honestly a heck of a lot of outfields look worse than Davis/Thames, Rasmus, and Bautista (I'll certainly take it over the Wise/Patterson, Rivera, Bautista we had a year ago), and again, a lot of clubs have a lot worse 8-hole lineup spots than Davis/Thames - that's not an out you can take for granted or rest comfortably against as Thames can get his stick on it at times and Davis, if on, will scramble your brains.

Leave "light hitting Rajai Davis" alone. Yesterday, he tried to bunt but had to hit the deck instead because of a brush back pitch. He then homered on the next pitch. He is a disruptive influence on the base paths. Pitchers are visibly nervous whenever he is on base.
