From what I have read (and seen), AA likes to call guys up to get their first game(s) our of the way on the road. I would not expect a home game. So it might be next weekend versus the Braves in Atlanta.

My first thought was “Vlad skipped Triple-A?”

Then I checked his minor league stats in the Expos system. Yikes. (Although even then, he was a lousy base-stealer.)

The June 11 game is at home against the team that used to be The Expos! The June 25 game against Boston would be the first game after the inter-league games. As AA got his start in baseball with the Expos, if all goes well at Triple A, Vlad will almost certainly, be in the lineup against the Nationals.

Looking at the upcoming schedule and the interleague games, he probably would be called up on either June 11 or June 25.
