As much as you worry about violence or a tragedy, you hope they are not too hard on this guy. He seems like an over excited guy who had a moment of bad judgement that did not hurt anyone. How about community service and a probationary period to stay out of trouble?

Yeah the celebration that went on with the fans, players, and management just shows how much more it meant to make the playoffs back then. @1943, I think if you were to be at the game with 25 of your drunkest friends and you all ran on the field at a sold out pennant winning game, then thousands might follow. If only..

His main mistake was wearing the pinstripes.
Think how long he could have lasted if he wore the home white with baseball pants. THAT would have been epic. And hopefully people would freak when they saw security beating the crap out of a “player”.

Just a thought I’ve had before…what exactly stops that from happening now? If a thousand or so people storm the field it’s not like ballparks have enough security staff to deal with it. Do people just drink less these days or something?

The funniest part was that several of the Mets players had their arm around him thinking he was just part of the team until security came in and rescued the day. Hilarious.

Agreed, if you’re going to run on the field you might as well make it as epic as possible. I’m sure he’ll have better memories of this than any future Mets games he now won’t be allowed to go to.
