It’s no joke: Bill Maher is a Mets part-owner

Jun 3, 2012, 7:19 PM EDT

According to Jon Heyman of, Bill Maher has taken the Mets up on one of their limited partnerships and is a part-owner of the club.

Heyman doesn’t know whether Maher anted up the full $20 million the Mets were asking for back when they started offering the partnerships around.

Attending today’s game and wearing a Mets cap, Maher, a stand-up comic who has hosted shows on Comedy Central, ABC and now HBO, told Heyman that he’s always been a Mets fan and that he invested in a limited partnership after discovering the opportunity in December.

He also made it clear that he’s “never been a fan of the DH,” an idea so heinous it could have only have been cooked up by conservatives.

Careful, facts and statistics abound! What you will find here is a well reasonsed and researched article about on the subject and not just “hey, he’s a socialist!”. Part of what the article summarizes is that Obama is far less liberal than LBJ, Roosevelt and Truman. But the republican party has moved far more the right.

Thefalcon you referenced the nytimes a liberal paper to say bo is not can make this stuff up

LOL you think conservatism is much better? Pray tell Barry what’s conservatism’s track record in getting rid of the welfare state, the warfare state, the regulatory state? Yea you people look good when compared to liberalism, but my goldfish looks better compared to liberalism.
The truth of the matter is Barry and the rest of the HBT conservatives that your just a pro government thuggery as the left. For the most part the left admits that they want the state jackboot in your life. However of course once you lose power, you start to scream “they’re not REAL conservatives” or my personal favorite “conservatives have lost their way” Sorry Barry, people are wising up to the lies of liberalism and the false hope that conservatives pretend to offer. It’s gotten so bad that Cold War relic Pat Buchanan has tried to latch himself onto the Ron Paul movement.

Lew Rockwell has a great quote regarding the reality that is US Conservatism

“What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night. There comes a time in the life of every believer in freedom when he must declare, without any hesitation, to have no attachment to the idea of conservatism.”

Good thing that Bill Maher sticks to his daytime job of being a political commentator and comedian, he definitely doesn’t want to do financial consulting. Poor Bill got stuck losing millions with his investment in Lehman Brothers, now he’s going to lose more money with his losing investment in the new York Mets.

I’m with Bill on the demerits of the Designated Hitter, why I hate the American League of old geezers who should be retired.

Maybe he can sucker Jon Stewart into buying his share of the Mets before he loses his shirt. Bill should get with Magic and invest in the Dodgers since he’s an L.A. denizen.

Jesus H. Christ on a stick you are a blithering idiot. The vast majority of those are irrelevant, things he didn’t do, or things he wasn’t the first to do. Go away. I don’t even like Obama. But go away.

  5. barrywhererufrom - Jun 6, 2012 at 10:35 AM

Kevin you should go away..with people like yourself who are in denial about BO and his administration..look at the above link I put on my post. If you dont like BO WHICH i BELIEVE you do, this would NOT piss you off..But any American regardless of their politics should be outraged..Basically a BO official told the NY Times reporter that the US was successful in hacking into Iran’s Nuclear computers. Now you would say because you are an apologist for BO, why would that matter? Let’s see telling your enemy which Iran secret information that we were able to hack into their computers puts us all at risk. T And why would the BO adminstration do this? Well let’s just say they want to portray Barry as a tough Commander and Chief( his words) posted for my amusement..Again I will go away when BO is out of office..And Kevin now you can go away to the hole you came from!!

  6. barrywhererufrom - Jun 6, 2012 at 10:39 AM

to contrast one of the biggest secrets the D-Day invasion anniversary is today..I am sure if Barry was in office at that time, an official from his adminstration would of leaked the location of our troops and where we were going to attack..finally the Engima code was cracked during WWII, We finally found out about it in the 1970’s..if you dont believe amature hour is in effect at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave you are either clueless, stupid or a Democrat..

    • Utley's Hair - Jun 6, 2012 at 3:19 PM

Well, you most certainly are two of those things. I echo Kevin S.’s sentiment, and add a twist: Please go away, you blithering conspiracy theorist idiot.
