I can’t stand seeing Matt Bush as a measuring stick for #1 picks. It was a complete shock when it happened, drafted solely due to signability.

I believe the Astros made the better long-term choice if it came down to Appel and Correa. It was a gutsy decision and one that winners make.

I think this kid has a higher upside then anyone else, when you consider that he is either going to play SS or 3RD. OF is easier to come by, and none of the pitchers are locks. Appel to me was the wrong guy. He had a terrific season but 2 years prior weren’t that impressive, not to be number 1 over all.

You said it. I wish he had sold the team after 2006. Now we have Springer as a three year prospect and DeShields and Correa as long term projects.
