Johan threw 134 pitches. Not 234. That is probably about 20 more than they had planned. And most of them were relatively stress free, especially the last two innings (except for the stress of being at the end of a no-hitter). He wasn’t in trouble, he wasn’t from the stretch all that much.

That said, against the Yankees, at Yankee stadium, this is a tough matchup. I think Johan had a great game about 2 weeks ago where he had exactly one out on the ground. Lots of fly balls is great for Citi Field; not so much across the river. Just ask Phil Hughes.
