Given the large amount of source material out there for decades, it’s unbelievable it took this long for this project. Early in his career, Spike Lee wanted to do a Robinson movie, but seemingly lost interest. Let’s just hope they don’t screw it up, if executed the right way, this could be an Academy Award caliber movie.

Another baseball bio long overdue is the Roberto Clemente story, I believe that project is under development, with the cooperation of the Clemente family. That’s another potential hit, and compelling story which needs to be told.

I happened to like Tin Cup as well. And let’s not forget about Field of Dreams. Neither are very realistic films, but they are certainly feel good movies that a bunch of sports junkies can enjoy.

I happen to love The Untouchables.

I know that the story is so ridiculously ahistorical that it makes an Oliver Stone film look like the work of Robert Caro, but hey, it’s Brian DePalma and David Mamet.

A movie by men, for men, if ever there was one…until The Expendables 2 comes out.

Costner was actually in the BIg Chill. The scene early in e movie where the corpse is seeing prepped for the funeral is Costner. His speaking scenes were al cut however and the viewer never see’s his face.

Well, considering that Costner was deleted from The Big Chill, one could debate the reasons for its success as a marginal impersonation of The Return of the Secaucus Seven over a couple of joints and a bottle of Ripple all night long.
