Why risk getting hurt in a minor league game though? Get on the field and let him be productive for as long as his body will allow.

I think it’s less about timing, and more just keeping him from overexerting himself

I really don’t see the point of this. Like he said, timing a minor league pitcher won’t help him hit a good big leaguer. I think he knows when he’s ready by now, and if it gets Constanza out of the lineup, let Chipper play.

It’s a shame that a 40 year old body won’t hold up but this cat can still play. Atlanta will need him healthy if they want to go deep into the playoffs.
