Another Philly infielder goes down: Freddy Galvis has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain.

He sustained the injury while batting last night.  The Phillies have called up Michael Martinez from Leigh Valley to take his place on the roster, though Mike Fontenot is likely to see most of the playing time at second, it would seem.

Does anyone have Juan Samuel’s phone number? How about Mickey Morandini?

Phone number? Juan Samuel was 90 feet away when Galvis got hurt. He could’ve been reached with a loud whisper.

You know things are bad when the possible tying run in the ninth inning is a Mike Fontenot AB. Really, it’s that bad.

Why would they need Samuel’s phone number? He coaches third bse.

The “Juan Samuel’s phone number” crack was a joke. But maybe they could call up Ryne Sandberg—I hear he’s pretty good.

I realize the crack was a joke. My point was that the joke could’ve been better played if Craig remembered the Samuel was present and in uniform.

Actually, your comment was better than the other one. After all, the Bank was pretty quiet right about then.

I felt awful for Galvis. He stayed in the box for two more pitches after he got hurt, and took the saddest looking swings I’ve ever seen – no stride, no follow through, just waving the bat in the general direction of the ball. Looked like any movement at all would’ve had him doubled over in pain. Hate to see that.

But as a Dodger fan, I loved to see that Fontenot was his replacement.

time to change the team’s name to the Philadelphia inPhirmaries

Everyone should know every team’s base coaches. I suspect they’re Communists if they don’t. Let’s face it, Craig is probably a Communist.

I believe the term you are seeking is “commie pinko.”
