There is little to no chance they’ll be able to match the deal somebody’s going to offer, especially considering the fact they have a prospect who projects as a big league CF, they’re going to need to fill a 3B or LF hole, and they would like to lock up McCann long term.

That being said, they need an owner who doesn’t view the team as just something to make money on and/or just something to spend the set amount of money on. They need someone who with passion running this thing so Frank Wren can work some magic and get them back to the top of the NL East.
