You're not going to get a number one for that package and the odds of having 2 guys from this draft pan out as a #2 or 3 starter are pretty slim.

If we wanted to trade for an established #1 it would cost at least one of Machado/Bundy, probably Schoop and 2/3 other top 10 prospects in our system. I love the O's, and really want this team to compete this year, but our best bet is to keep developing our prospects in house and hope that one of Matsuz, Arietta, Britton or Bundy turns into the #1 guy. Or spend the money on one in free agency. We just aren't in a position to give away the little young talent we do have in the minors.

Also, I'm not claiming to be a smart baseball fan.

Now I do have a question for a smart baseball fan. Would it be smart putting together a trade with Reynolds and maybe Arrieta, and berken or a similar 3 for a #1 type guy in the rotation. I know giving up Arrieta means possibly a future 1-2 but we have Bundy, and we just drafted 20 pitchers 1 or 2 of them have to make the majors and be atleast 2-3 type guys in the rotation. Just a thought but would like to hear from a smart baseball fan. I've heard some guys and they just are dumb.

I could see the future line-up being
1.B.Roberts-2nd
2.J.Hardy-SS
3.N.Markakis-RF
4.A.Jones-CF
5.M.Wieters-C
6.C.Davis-DH
7.N.Rimold-LF
8.M.Reynolds-1st
9.R.Andino-3rd
I think that is a nice line-up. Has pop up and down the lineup but also has speed.
I think the rotation needs 1 pitcher that could be a stopper. We need a number 1 starter. But until the. I see the best rotation being
1.W.Chen
2.Z.Britton
3.J.Hamels
4.B.Matuz
5.J.Arrieta (C.Tillman if Jake can't get right)
Im not a huge die hard baseball guy, but the past 3 years have been watching and learning all I can and based in what I've picked up u need to have a stopper to make sure u don't have long losing streaks and I'm not 100% sure we have that yet. But we need to get healthy and more consitent in our line-up. I think having Roberts back to be a veteran lead off guy and Andino with speed to get us back to the top is a great match. With Jones, Wieters, Davis, and hopefully Riemold adding anytime power we should be ok getting runs!!

The O's are currently in third place, only 1 game out of first behind the Rays and and a half game behind the Yanks. That being said, would you really think that a lineup consisting of no name's (Tolleson, Pearce) and has beens (Betemit, Chavez) would be keeping us afloat? To think this team sits at 8 games over .500 and looks to get B-Rob back this week, possibly Britton in the coming weeks and Markakis and Reimold (who everyone forgets about, but raked in 8 HR's before his early injury) can only be a huge boost to the lineup and pitching staff. Andino will move back to utility infielder, but I'm thinking he's destined to end up at third at some point in time (defensive purposes). The true test of devotion by management and Angelos will be whether or not they become buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. We've shown our depth in the minors for trading pieces. Lets go get ourselves a starting pitcher to solidfy this rotation and this team can be deadly.

So to the rest of the league and the fans: where's that collapse everyone keeps talking about?
