Davey understands that the kid is not bigger than the team. He also understands that the kid is going to be around a long time, and if he’s hurt a little, he can take a day off from starting — and still be available on the bench.

If the Nats continue to play well, Davey will be a candidate for Manager of the Year, along with Don Mattingly.
