Gaby went one for four with a double and a ribby today. It seems to have rubbed off on Tweeter, who went three for four with a ribby. That's because the Iron Giant (1 for 4 with a double) is now protecting him. Not quite what they had in mind. Best day Tweeter's had this year. Cooter goes ohfer two with two walks and is now batting .150. He's next for designation.

Coda: the Feesh designated utilityman Donnie Murphy for assignment to make room for Gaby. He was batting .133 and couldn't hit a volleyball with a laundry paddle. He has a great future as a wafer of Soylent Green™.

The bad news is that, indeed, they're moving Tweeter back to left field and Slobbering Ozzie is still making noises about how Tweeter has to be the one to "protect" the Iron Giant in the lineup. Right. That's like asking Arnold Stang to protect George Zimmerman on a walk through Liberty City. Two outs, two on, the Giant steps to the plate and Tweeter and his .214 average assumes the supplicant's position in the DOR circle. What is the opposing manager going to do? Tell his peetcher to challenge the Iron Giant? Sure he will.

You knew this was happening when he was held out of the Zephyrs lineup yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if they send Cooter Coghlan back down before his BA reaches minus numbers. I mean, he's hitting .155 now and he's so far below the surface of Rio Mendoza at this point that if he went 4-for-5 he'd die of the bends. The beeg question is, of course, what do they do with Tweeter now? The guy's on a schneid that makes Calamity Jane look like Pippa Middleton. Dear Buddha, don't put him back in left field.
