Gio has only been in D.C. for a couple of months now and probably hasn’t had much time to meet women, so, heck, why not twitter. Still, one of his followers has a better idea. The gala is the Nationals sponsored Dream Gala 2012 and includes a silent auction, among other things.
I think @GioGonzalez47 should raffle himself off for the gala - with raffle ticket proceeds going to the @Nationals Dream Foundation!

The whole person with a (relatively) high profile looking for a date on twitter thing makes me pretty uncomfortable.

Gio has become beloved in Nats Town, both for his personality and his performance. Surprising that he felt the need to resort to tweeting.

If things are that bad, get on craigslist, or backpage.com, anyone can score on those sites, even Gio.

Wouldn’t it be less awkward to bring a friend of a friend to this event (like ask teammates if they have a female friend or a cousin or something in the area — heck, even ask the lady bagging his groceries if she’s available that night) than to ask for a date on Twitter? It’s kind of bizarre to me.

You guys are harsh. He seems like a nice, goofy, sincere guy. I like Gio. He’s someone you feel good rooting for…
