Any help in the rotation is a good thing, doesn’t matter if he’s 31 or 81….he can’t do much worse than what they’ve got out there already.

Big Z did, does, and will always suck. Never liked that guy when he was their no 4 starter and really disliked him when he was posing as their No 1 starter while still pitching like a No 4 starter.

Oh yeah, I agree with istillbelieveinblue. That 2003 team with Jimmy Wood and Jeff Clement and Timmy Karros and Enrique Ramirez was pretty solid. Their bullpen left a lot to be desired and is what ultimately cost them a shot at the WS IMO, but it was great when they finally squeaked it out to get in the playoffs. The way they crumbled at the end has pretty much scarred me for life though.

I believe it was Mark Prior,Kerry Wood,and Matt Clement not Jeff,but they definitely had a nice young rotation

Jeff also has asthma. That really made pitching in Chicago in the heat of the summer really difficult. I always really liked him. That 2003 team was so easy to get behind. They had the younger guys like Woody, Prior and Ramirez, and some easy-to-like veterans like Karros and Kenny Lofton.

It would be a minor miracle if this guy ever pitched affectively in the Majors again. That said, I am rooting for him. It seems like he truly loves the game, because clearly the guy has money and could have just said fuck it a long while ago. The crazy part is, he’s young than Josh Beckett.

Carlos wasn’t a major factor in that 2003 season, as he was so young. The only starter to win a playoff game that year not named Wood or Prior was Jeff Clement and that amazing gotee. If I remember correctly Carlos lost game 5 in Miami.

Take a look at what has happened to Aceves from over use,( era is over four+) now imagine them (Sox) over using Prior, his arm would fall off.
