Why are you inferring that I somehow claim that they perform offensively? I said they bunt, run and hit, I did not say they did those things spectacularly well, they simply do those things all season long.

I’m just ragging you because I disagree with the DH. Your sarcastic comment about finding a way for pitchers not to do any of this stuff deserved a sarcastic reply. You need to take a few chill pills.

NL pitchers put up a grand total of 682 hits in 2011. That equals the total number of hits that Ichiro Suzuki put up in the 2002, 2003 and 2004 seasons. Of course, the pitchers had more than 2.5 times the plate appearances to do it.

Other than bunting, your claim about pitchers performing offensively “all the time” is a pretty poor choice of words. It certainly doesn’t help the argument.

NL pitchers do that all year and train accordingly. AL pitchers do that 3 starts per year and train accordingly.

Funny. NL Pitchers bunt, run, hit (even Homers) all the time with few if any of these freak accidents. I guess AL pitchers can’t play baseball.
