Getting kids into MLB farm systems faster and cheaper.

Some predicted that the hard cap was going to cause kids with college offers to take them, since MLB teams couldn’t pay way over slot. Seemed like a reasonable prediction. Thus, it’s interesting that high schoolers like Hawkins are signing instead of taking college offers. Too early to tell whether it’s a trend, of course.
