“Ballcarrier” being the key point as to why you’re just flat-out wrong. CB’s primary goal is to not let the WR catch the ball in the first place. And if youre relying on your 190-200 lb. CB’s to tackle then you have some serious issues with the front 7.

Tackling is a bad way to judge a cornerback? Last I checked, the primary goal of any NFL defender is to put an opposing ballcarrier on the ground.

Envious that he’s in the NFL and can hit 5 HR’s in BP, yeah, cuz what person sitting at work right now wouldn’t want to do that…

I mean, great he hit HR’s in BP and people know who Edelman is, so people will read this and i think it is cool that he can do that. But to catergorize him as “the lone two-way player” and say he had WR duties and “filled in admirably at cornerback” is wrong.

Nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga played 42 snaps at fullback for SF, even had an 18 yard catch. He’s also not a backup like Edelman is.

Very weak. You might want to check out what Julian Edelman actually did in the NFL the last 2 years before you call him versatile. Yeah, he lined up at CB, but how did he do? And he barely touched the ball on offense. I wouldn’t call it versatile unless you’re at least average at more than 1 thing. He’s a good punt returner. That’s it.

I know the headline is joking, but Bo was a great RB and an all-star OF, Deion is a CB/PR, and Julian Edelman is very average, at best.

as much as i cant stand ESPN, the 30 for 30 series was phenomenal. the one they did on MJ was great. i really liked how they had one reporter from SI on, who wrote an early article trashing MJs decision, only to write a later one talking about his leaps and bounds improvement. of course SI spiked the second column…

People really don’t understand how difficult a feat that was. A guy who hadn’t picked up a baseball bat since he was maybe a teenager, gets thrown right into AA where most of the top prospects are. Proceeds to hit .202 and, by some scout’s accounts, was getting a lot better when he left the game.

If hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports, imagine trying to do it against the games top prospects without swinging a bat for 15 or so years.
