He’d be toast in a real ball park, and gone after one year. That’s why he agreed to a 1 year contract when he wanted longer and Boston said no. He was too CHICKEN to leave and see just how untalented he really is .

There’s a huge difference between calling someone a childish name, things we did when we were 5 years old, and having to deal with a collective media that writes inflammatory, often falsely incorrect, information to pump up their readership.

This column* states is far better than I could. Why does Ortiz need to remind people that this is baseball, not a Congressional hearing. It’s supposed to be fun, but if you are a player for the Sox (or the Yanks/Mets) you often have to deal with a media that loves to wear on your soul, day in and day out.

Yesterday, David Ortiz called the Boston media out for being complete failures. Today, and probably for the next several days, that media will spend its every waking minute firing back. And with every outraged column declaring Papi ungrateful, angry, and out of line, they will be proving his point.

it is the oposite bobby v is keeping this team afloat, think about it what type of players is bobby know for being best with hyoung guys hes known for being a great motivator, and look who has been good on the red soxs dubront, aviles, sweeney, ross, saltalamachi to some extent, and all the out fielders they have brought up its the veterans who are bad, they need to step there game up. If you look at the whole thing its really a problem with ownership in Larry Lucino and John Henry. Theo Epstien talked abotu in an interview “the monster” that he fell into talking abotu signings like john lakey and agon where he was told by ownership they were good for ratings that henry wanted boosted. He did say it is he had the final decision but people like larry and john were trying to influence him to make the large signings

also interesting fact since the begining of last september the red soxs and cubs have nearly the same record i think red soxs are one or two games over but its the point

if you hear the whole interview, he actually says in it that he is talking about the media, directly in it and i think more or less talking about nesn talking about him using steriods.. see normally nesn never says anything bad about the red soxs because they are owned by john henry and the team.

Terrible excerpt to take out, he talk about how this is his last year of trying to prove the critics in Boston. Apparently during yesterdays pregame he was showing discust with larry Lucino. I think this is all about his contract and that he doenst like playing on one year deals, and also how he always disproves the media and they go and attact him again i guess?? even though media in Boston love him. So ya look for him to maybe not resign with red soxs.

Amazed? Proudly, have you never heard the Toronto or Montreal media talk about their hockey teams? The sports media in any big town is the same….pathetic lowlives trying to make themselves a bigger story than the team they cover.

A couple of things

1. This didn’t just start with Bobby V, this was happening during the collapse of last season but the vultures in the media tried to keep it under the rugs until it your down so they can kick you while your down.

2. Yea the Boston media is full of douchebags but it’s not much better in NY, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philly or LA either. Like the Federal Government the sports media is full of scum

3. The media is NOT your friend, Ortiz would’ve been better keeping quiet or at the very least saying as little as possible.

I don’t want to defend the Boston media, but looking for who to blame when things are going poorly is called “accountability.” I think it’s the appropriate role for the media.

Where the Boston media goes awry is they often blame the wrong people. LOOKING for who to blame? I’m good with that.
