I remember when the Cardinals clenched the division that year. Everyone piled on the field to celebrate but Pujols disappeared into the clubhouse.

…he emerged moments later holding Darryl Kile’s jersey so it could be on the field during the celebration. I still almost get a bit misty-eyed thinking about that.

Watched him in Colorado a few times, I still remember how shocked I was when I heard that he had died.

RIP, actually got to see him in 2001, and remember seeing the TV broadcasts. It was right after my uncle and aunt had moved, and we were at their new house.

I was at the first game after Kile died. The Cubs won by a large margin, but nobody cheered. No 7th inning stretch. No organ music. It was one of the saddest experiences of my life.
