His mediocre (?) MiLB numbers came from two really had starts, the rest were very good to outstanding. He already threw 2 complete games for OKC – like most pitchability lefties, the time to watch will be when he faces the same team for a second or third time…guy is good though as long as his control is there.

Addressing one of my main concerns for this year. Where was the pitching depth going to come from for August/September as they start shutting these young arms down? Hopefully he is still developing and the mediocre minor league record is not indicative. Actually of late it is not their pitching but miserable hitting. But, like most Astros fans, we live for all the little positive signs that this team is on the way back.

He’s been terrific so far. His minor league numbers aren’t all that impressive, but he had a great month or so before getting the call. Keep it up Dallas

“He needed just 108 pitches…” I love the wording, “…just 108…”. In most games, a starter labors to get to 108 pitches, these days…. Is it really Cy Young/Sandy Kofax type news that a guy pitches a complete game in his 2nd start? If it is a big deal that someone pitched a complete game, it is usually because they throw beyond 100 pitches, thus, contradicting the “…just 108…” wording.
