..and after going 1-9 during his rehab stint against single-a pitching (as reported in the post-game show today) I would agree, Stubbs certainly has not missed a beat. The fact that he will be reinserted as the everyday center-fielder, on a first place team who currently cant afford to lose any production, is beyond frustrating. 2012 is supposed to be about production..not endless promises of unfulfilled potential. Make him EARN his way back up. The TEAM deserves better..and frankly has gotten better production out of his position since he's been gone.

will Heisey move back into a platoon with ludwick? what about frazier? where is he going to play now that rolen is back? and how can stubbs say he is comfortable and ready to play again with only 2 at bats? he did not strike out in those at bats so we know he is not ready to return yet. I know there is a rule that players should not lose their jobs to injury but in his case they should make a exception. as soon as he went out and Heisey took over they went a 6 game winning streak so why should Heisey be benched so stubbs can come in and strike out 3 out of 4 at bats every game? dusty will put his name in the lineup everyday for the rest of the season no matter how many times he strikes out because he is fast. he has not figured out a way to steal first yet but he is fast. it was a fun week and half to be a reds fan during that streak to be in first place and 4 and 5 games ahead of everybody but now that they are determined to go with the pre first place lineup it is all over. watch and see when they come back from a 11 game west coast trip they will be 4 games out at least.
