Kevin Youkilis trade not believed imminent

It’s well past noon and we haven’t checked in on the Kevin Youkilis rumor mill. Time to rectify that.

CSNNE.com’s Sean McAdam has the goods:

Five teams — the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves and a fifth unidentified team — are evolving.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks, a second source revealed, while once involved in talks for the infielder, are no longer part of the mix.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tweeted late Saturday night that the Dodgers were only engaging in “minimal contact” with the Boston front office. He also called the Indians a “longshot.” So we might be able to go ahead and rule out those two teams as well.

Youkilis is in the Red Sox starting lineup on Sunday against the Braves, batting sixth and playing third base. Will Middlebrooks — the sudden star who has rendered Youk expendable — is serving as Boston’s DH.

      The Pale Hose got him.

Don’t kid yourself, he’s on his way out, it’s just a matter of who the Sox can get the best deal from. It’s baseball, he’s being replaced by a younger cheaper version of what he used to be. I personally think Youk was a gamer, being a Yankee fan, he was the last guy I’d want to see up with the game on the line because he’d grind you and wold usually come through. Wherever he winds up I’m sure he’ll bounce back, good luck to him.

No praying mantis is ever going to land on the dugout railing in front of that face.

This is what happens when you don’t use primary sources for your information. If I didn’t use primary sources high school, college, or whatever, I’d get crappy grades. I guess journalism school doesn’t care.

Again! The Braves need a Third baseman!

I was thinking earlier that may be part of the stall in this imminent trade, since they’re in the middle of a series. It would seem odd for him to go to the team his playing against.

It looks like he’s been traded. I’m watching the sox/braves game. Youk hit a RBI triple then was taken out of the game. Bobby V and a few of the players left the dugout to hug him as he left the field. Crowd gave him an ovation and youk took a step out of the dugout and acknowledged the crowd. Seems the team and youk knew something We don’t yet.
