We taught my friends two year old to say apodaca, cracks me up every time. I got to spend a week learning from dac (and clint hurdle also) about 20 years ago at clint hurdle’s camp for teenagers when he coached in the rockies minor league organization. He skipped lunches all week to work with extra with me and any time i wanted to get extra work, he was willing to give up his time and work with me. He is a really really great guy and not only helped me have a great couple of years pitching but mad a great impression on me as a person. i wish him the best!

Apropos of nothing: I used to love how the late, great Mets play-by-play man Bob Murphy said Apodaca’s name. Each syllable just rolled off Murph’s tongue.

I would askto be re-assigned to if my GM kept giving me beer league softball pitchers and 60 year old 4th or 5th starters. How about asking the Monforts to re-assign Dan(you mean I had a chance to draft Evan Longoria and chose not to) O’Dowd.
