The culture talk is absolutely true. Ichiro has said he prefers infield hits because they require so much skill. Even though Ichiro actually has the power to hit 25 home runs a year, he slap hits because that is how he wants to be successful.

In a 3-2 count wouldn’t the hitter be looking for a pitch to hit? The only thing that makes sense is if the pitchers r trying to take advantage of that over aggressiveness but still these r MLB hitters they r more than likely going to hurt you

It’s a dumb idea, but I can only imagine if baseball was played with every hitter coming to the plate with a 3-2 count on them already.

Maybe this is why they get an extra day of rest.

I haven’t looked at the numbers in a while, but I’m pretty sure that batting average increases with each pitch a batter sees.
