Chase Utley is … GO!

Chase Utley is expected to be in the Phillies lineup tonight. And based on how he played for the Iron Pigs last night, he seems ready.

As Reuben Frank of reports, Utley had himself a great game which, more importantly, made him look ready to contribute:

Chase Utley had two hits, smoked the ball three times, smashed a long home run to right-center, fielded two challenging chances flawlessly and sure looked ready to return to the major leagues.

Charlie Manuel said that Utley has the three-hole when he’s back in the Phillies lineup. Barring something unexpected, that should be this evening.

Go Phillies go! Make a charge!

I love the names of some minor league teams. The Iron Pigs is a great name. I also like the Lansing Lug Nuts.

    Go Chase!

Will they do another show and mention him since he is back? I sure hope so..

“Call the troops out in a hurry,
This is what we’ve waited for,
This is it boys, this is war.”

Let’s hope the knee doesn’t pop like a balloon.

Is it wrong or better that I have the Goldfinger version in my head now?

I’m not sure how much of an impact he’ll make on the field, it’s likely they’ll have to rest him often to keep him healthy. But with that said, even if he’s just at 30%, he’s still an improvement over Martinez. Also, he’s a firey guy and a leader in the dugout, so even if he’s not the All-Star he once was, he could still play a role in getting this team turned around.

The time’s now. If they can get even a little bit of momentum going into the ASB, that’d be huge. Hopefully Halladay and Howard aren’t far behind.

Boy did the Phillies ever need this shot in the arm.

Oh man, now I hope no one on the Phillies gets shot in the arm.

Oh I don’t know, it might help with Schwimmer’s location. Certainly can’t hurt.

Lets go baby! All the Phillies fans that jumped off the bandwagon with this mediocre season, do us all a favor, and STAY OFF! Philly sports only has room for the most passionate fans that stick with the guys THROUGH THICK AND THIN. Its called loyalty

    • captainwisdom8888 - Jun 27, 2012 at 10:53 AM

      Lets get em Chase!

    • delawarephilliesfan - Jun 27, 2012 at 10:56 AM

I have been with them through thick and thin, and I welcome all bandwagon jumpers back.

In fairness, it has been a while since the Phillies have suffered, it has been an adjusment for everyone. I can’t judge others for losing faith.

4 1/2 behind Atlanta, and we all the the Nat’s are going to fall…..

        Welcome back, Chase!

As a long-time fan, I’m happy to welcome everyone on the bandwagon–the more, the merrier. Just don’t claim you’ve been loyal all along. We know who you are… :)

Baseball just seems better when Chase Utley is healthy and playing. Not a Phillies fan, obviously, but mad respect for Chase.

Yes, because steroids help one square up the ball. Shut the fuck up with baseless accusations.

I haven’t been so excited about something since the Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer. Now if only they could do something about the bullpen

Wonder if this Craig being a complete dick and trolling the Phillies and essentially anybody with Utley in the DL spot on their fantasy team.

What say you Craig, is this just a fanciful tale?

  14. cliffy33 - Jun 27, 2012 at 12:07 PM

with jimmy being the catalyst that we all know he can be and chase back we still have life especially when ryan and roy come back (assuming they are even somewhat productive). By august the Phils should be rolling, just like Aroldis
