It's less being pissed off and more cliche and obvious. A fan wants the good players on his team? Imagine friggin' that! We'll add your name to the list of all 30 major league GMs, since they'd all love to have him too. It's also because I, like many people, like seeing a healthy league more than I like seeing the same five teams win year after year. Star players on every team is the best thing for the league as a whole. You can go down the list: Braun, Tulo, Votto, Kemp, Jeter, Pedroia, Verlander, etc. Sure, you'd love to have any one of them, but how cool is it that nearly every team in baseball has that one monster they can hang their hat on and say, "This is our guy. There are many like him but this one is ours!" McCutchen is just another guy who would be fantastic for every team, so it's best for the Pirates to keep him.

Actually, all I was saying was “man, this guy is a good player. I sure wish he was on my favorite team.” I didn’t realize that would piss so many people off.

I hope he keeps it up, and that the Pirates can finally have a little success. I am sure there are young Pirate fans who have never seen their team even finish .500 That has got to be tough.

Is this one lone pipe dreaming Ranger fan, or are Ranger fans turning into Yankee fans? Any player does something good on another team, they start saying “Well, he should be on our team.” Why can’t some people just enjoy that some other team might have a little success and something to root for? The Pirates haven’t even had a winning record in forever, much less playoffs or playoff success.

Fans like that make me sick. If they got their way, every good player would play on maybe six teams and no other team would worth watching. Those fans aren’t true fans, they just want to be following a team that wins, so can somehow brag that “we” are so good and you stink. They are like the bully little kid that won’t share his toys, but cries when some other kid won’t share his.

I saw him play at AAA in Indianapolis, and knew instantly he was the real deal. He ran down a sure double in the gap, and made it look easy. He also laced a double off the left-center field wall, which is about 420ft at Victory Field.

And the note from last season, when the team was struggling last year, Cutch became homer happy and his BABIP dropped like a rock. Sounds cliche, but as long as he doesn’t try doing too much, any regression after the break should be minimal.
