Getty Images The assumptions made Wednesday were correct.
As first reported by MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert, then confirmed moments later by the player himself, Diamondbacks right-hander Daniel Hudson needs Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.
Hudson was diagnosed earlier this week with a torn ulnar collateral ligament and got the same news Friday in a second opinion from Dr. Lewis Yocum.
Hudson is likely to be out through the 2013 All-Star break. The 25-year-old right-hander owns a solid 3.68 career ERA and 1.21 career WHIP.

Wow, the Dbacks have been terribly unlucky recently. Drew and Hudson injuries, Upton’s terrible slump. Just hope Gibby can keep the team going
