I feel like a spectator at a match between Roger Feder and a really uptight, mouthy line judge. So far the score is 30-Love for Chip with an unforced error by coreletto (hey core: the sentence “It’s called grammar and if you (sic) job is to write” contains a typo. Its called proofreading. If you take it upon yourself to criticize others for their typos try not to commit the same mistake).

Now, just to prove I’m impartial (and really bored) I gave each of you a + thumb click for purposes of encouragement. Now, keep it clean, no cussing,ad hominem is funny so go for it, and carry on, boys.

Joyce made a mistake on what was pretty much a “bang-bang” play, found out he was wrong, and immediately apologized, and apologized to the pitcher (blanking on the name). It happened, it was unfortunate, it’s in the past. He’s not the one who should be tarred with the brush of “notorious umpires” like Hernandez and Cowboy Joe West, only put in the “if there were replay, he coulda fixed his mistake” group.

Pity it wasn’t Joyce behind the plate. His strike calls are awesome. To me, he’s the best kind of umpire. Admittedly, most know of him because he admitted a mistake (and it was a doozy), but he’s not an overbearing ass and he calls the game in a really neat way. Best umpire in MLB? Yeah. Best umpire in MLB.
