It does seem to me like a lot of people like to mock religious people either explicitly or with backhanded remarks, though. Maybe that’s not really what’s happening and I’m still just a little sensitive to it, I don’t know. But people aren’t idiots because they happen to believe in God. Some of them are, certainly, completely ignoring all the sciencey goodness and stuff, but whatever.

Luke Scott is Luke Scott and in no way reflects the thought process of the majority of Christians I know.

Second, the arrogance is in the us/them perspective of people that throw their religion around publicly as if being associated with said group makes one superior. Those are generally the first people to get annoyed if non-religious people throw their non-religion around publicly.

This is especially funny because Scott is a flaming racist and being Christian apparently didn’t keep him from being that (though it apparently has kept him from being a drunk racist, which is nice). If you can’t even conform to the most basic of teachings of your savior (such as not being racist), you probably shouldn’t be flaunting your religion in public.

Any condemnation of Christians and/or Christianity available strikes me as inadvertent, at best. Too bad the same can’t be said for Scott’s condemnation of alcoholics, above, and a variety of other groups via previous, supposedly-religiously-inspired “thoughts” he has shared.

It is also the need of such people to credit their alleged faith with any possibly positive character they posses. If non-Christians started publicly crediting their lack of religion for their successes, I suppose Christians would just sit quietly by (as Christ actually would) and not respond aggressively and publicly (as Christ wouldn’t).
