That was indeed a nice catch in the second. Definitely an out. Well done.

Joey Bats may be an excellent outfielder but he did not look like one in the first inning. He made two poor plays on balls off the wall. Didn’t end up mattering as Verlander was getting knocked around anyway, but still.

It’s what happens when he relies on the fastball. Should have worked with his off-speed pitches. Verlander is amazing but that’s why he lost a couple games earlier in the season in the late innings. Everyone knew he was going to dial up instead of stick with what was working all game.
