Which Giant is going to be the All-Star Game MVP?

Jul 10, 2012, 9:55 PM EDT

National League All-Star Sandoval hits a three RBI triple during the Major League Baseball's All-Star Game in Kansas City Reuters

Those Giants fans treated harshly for stuffing the ballot box have to be feeling pretty good right about now:

Melky Cabrera: 2-for-2, two-run HR, two runs scored
Pablo Sandoval: 1-for-2, three-run triple
Matt Cain: Scoreless first and second innings

Buster Posey is also done, so all four Giants have exited the game. However, with the NL up 8-0 as of the fifth, it seems like a given that one will be the MVP, probably one of the hitters. Cabrera got the NL rally started with his hit in the first and later made it 8-0 with his homer. However, Sandoval’s triple was the blow that really broke the game open against Justin Verlander, making it 4-0 in the first.

So, what do you think? Cabrera, Sandoval, maybe even Cain?

    Melky will likely win it.

I vote the Marilyn Monroe look a like behind the plate. Other then the AL team, those are the biggest boobs in the park.

I think it’s a bit early to say “it seems like a given.” Really doubt this game ends in a shutout–perhaps it goes to the author of an AL comeback, or the NL player who breaks an 8-8 tie later?

Verlander had the most to do with the NL win, so I’ll go with him.

As of the end of the game, the vote was 58% for Melky, 39% for Sandoval, 3% for Cain.

So a former Royal returns to Kauffman Stadium and promptly wins the All-Star MVP. How Royals of him!

There is nothing like a San Francisco Giants uniform to bring the best out in a player! Big congrats to the 2012 All Star Game MVP, Melky Cabrera!

Hmm… I seem to have a typo above… It should say, “of course the game will be 8-0, and one of those players will win MVP!” I’ll blame autocorrect. Yeah. That’s it.
