But Cano knew Mike Trumbo was going to be an All-Star? Really?

Nobody with a brain is claiming that Cano purposely misled the fans in KC. But he DID mislead them. So they let him know what they thought of it.

Hilariously and predictably, Yankee fans and some of the protective east coast media shills haven't been able to handle it.

Turns out, that whole story about fans spitting on his wife never really happened.

“That was way overblown,” Lee said. “No one came up to my wife and spit on her. You go to any stadium, fans start cheering, especially in the post‑season, fans are going to say something, they’re going to do things like that. That story was way overblown, it was false, and had zero to do with anything.”

I wonder if Butler even going to play tonight.

Why would Ron Washington, in a game that could potentially affect his team should they make it back to the series, play someone who doesn't really deserve to be there?

Well I'm just a "degenerate" living in a "sess(?) pool" (whatever the hell that is) but to address your inquiry as to what happened last night being any different than Yankee fans chanting "who's your daddy" to Pedro during an actual y'know game, the answer is, it's very different. See it has to do with context, rivalry, and ongoing competitive races within the same division. Something it's understandable an entire generation of KC fans have zero knowledge or understanding of. As for how'd it work out? The Yankees regularly beat Pedro, even in his prime, which led him to uttering the original statement that the Yankees were in fact his "daddy" after another one of those unsuccessful outings against them. If you were referring to Pedro pitching successfully out of bullpen against the Yankees in the '04 ALCS, well you can't win 'em all. (but of course your standard issue Yankee hater would cherry pick that moment as though it was the only time, or season, that the chant took place...) The Yankees then did have to wait until '09 for the team to again get back to it's winning ways. That is true, so huzzah for your brilliant and stinging attack. Well played.

As for "loyalty" and that being some exclusive hallmark of KC fans and mid-westerners, well we'll just see what kind of reception Robbie gets the next time he steps into the batters box at Yankee Stadium for his first AB during next homestand following the All-Star break. Something tells me all the "degenerate" New Yorkers are gonna let him know just what we feel about our best player.

So enjoy your thrilling victory and how the entire nation saw KC fans booing a guy during an exhibition. You can tell your grandkids about it one day. It's fine, they had their big moment after Cano clearly, and so rudely and purposefully disrespected the entire fanbase, organization, and apparently from the sounds of things, the entire mid-west! Well, they showed him, boy howdy.

But here's another "deal", Cano is one the best players in the game and shrugged off last nights booing barrage with class. NYY fans love our homegrown MVP caliber 2B and being booed on the road is just another night at the office for those guys. Robbie I'm sure could care less because he's got bigger fish to fry the rest of the way. Go Yankees!!!

I really need to clarify that -- for me, anyway -- "hating" the Yankees is mostly in good fun. Sports are way more fun with villains. Any Yankee fan who doesn't understand why the rest of us root against you is someone I really wouldn't like spending time with.

And Brandon McCarthy was tweeting about how he thought it was fine - insults and threatening families = too far, but booing because your guy didn't get in = passion. I think booing is silly mostly, but if the players themselves are okay with it during an exhibition, why do the rest of us care?

I understand that. And I'm not trying to argue.

Obviously the reason Royals fans are upset is because he said he would take a Royal, he didn't. That alone, regardless of whether or not he chose his three guys after the all-star team was released or not, is enough for Royals fans to put a price on Cano's head. By hitting zero home runs, it was like some type of compensation for him not picking Butler. It's possible that fans got in his head, and if they did, then they got the revenge they sought.

Oh my God! Can we just drop this already? Apparently, it comes as a shock to people that fans at a sporting event might boo someone, a Yankee no less. Even Craig is inconsistent by starting out calling the fans insecure for the amount of booing, while trying to pass it off as not being offended at the end. Make up your mind.

The only reason that it seemed excessive is because he was up there 10 minutes or so hitting. In a normal game, if they boo his entire at bat, it may be only 2-3 minutes. Cano did not seem bothered by it, and shrugged it off when interviewed. Why is everyone else making a big deal about it? Personally, I thought it was assume!! It shows that the KC fans support their team and have some heart, even though their team has struggled for the last too many years.

Here's the deal, most of us here in KC are very loyal to our people. I believe this to be a fact of most mid-westerners. What you need to understand is that many of us dislike New York, New Yorkers, and espescially Yankees. NYC is an over hyped, over populated sess pool of degenerates. Is what we did last night any different than you uppity douche bags chanting "Who's your Daddy" to Pedro? Oh by the way how'd that one work out for you? We accomplished what we wanted, Cano 0 Hr's, New Yorkers crying foul play, and the World seeing the loyalty we Royals fans have. Don't disrespect us and we won't make you look like a fool on national television.
