I saw him pitch at the Royals Futures game last year, I thought he'd be in Kansas City by July of last season. He was filthy....and it's been all down hill since then.

This is why prospects are just prospects. Some are going to flame out, some will get injured and flame out. Some will make it to the majors and just be OK.

The Royals have a lot of prospects but not many wins at the MLB level, at some point the front office will have to ship some prized prospects off for bonafide MLB starting pitching.

However, that's just the strategy. Based on Dayton Moore's track record in trading for MLB talent I have no faith that he can execute such a strategy even if there was a will to do it.

Oh, I dunno. Terry built us a winner back in the day, but I also think the way he went about it capped us at being a good, but not great, team.

This really is a bummer. I'm a Twins fan, but the prospect of seeing the Royals return to prominence is kind of exciting. I like the idea that a team can build from within, and over the course a few (or a lot of) years form themselves into legitimate contenders. The Rays have done it, and the Royals are on the cusp of it, but they need their pitching prospects to start coming around too. If they can do it, and the Rays can do it, I can believe the Twins are capable of it too.
